The main cloud telephony providers in India are Exotel, MyOperator, Knowlarity, Acefone (which now includes Servetel), Tata Tele Business Services Smartflo, Airtel IQ, Ozonetel, MCUBE and Callerdesk. They sell virtual numbers, IVR, call routing and recording for a monthly fee. If most of your customers already message you on WhatsApp, Spur lets them call you from that chat, with your whole team answering in the browser.
Every fact below comes from each provider's own website, read on 25 October 2026. Where a provider does not publish a price or a feature, we say so instead of guessing.
Cloud telephony providers in India at a glance

| Exotel | ₹9,999 prepaid pack, 5 months validity | 7 days with ₹500 credits | Messaging |
| MyOperator | ₹5,000 a month for 10 users, billed yearly | Limited feature trial | Messaging |
| Knowlarity | Rs 1,999 a month, 1-year minimum | Trial button, no terms stated | Messaging |
| Acefone (and Servetel) | ₹1,599 per user a month, 6 seats minimum | 7 days, limited calling | Messaging and calling |

| Ozonetel | Pricing page not readable | Consultation form | Messaging |
| MCUBE | Not published | Free demo | Messaging |
| Callerdesk | Not published | Trial button, no terms stated | Not found |
MyOperator states that GST is extra; the other providers do not say on their pricing pages, so confirm tax before you compare. A cloud telephony bill in India also includes numbers, minutes, add-ons and GST, so compare a full month rather than the headline plan.
How we compared them
We read each provider's homepage, pricing page, product pages and WhatsApp pages, and recorded only what they publish:
- Price: the lowest published plan, with its unit and billing terms.
- Trial: what the site offers before you pay.
- Telephony features: IVR, virtual and toll-free numbers, call recording, click-to-call, dialers, missed call service, CRM integrations and AI voice agents.
- WhatsApp: whether they sell WhatsApp messaging, and whether they offer WhatsApp Business calling, where customers call you inside WhatsApp.
We did not test call quality or support, so this is a comparison of offers, not a ranking of service.
The 10 cloud telephony providers

Each entry lists what the provider sells, the telephony features its site names, its WhatsApp support, its lowest published price and its trial. Spur comes first because it is our product, and it is built around calls inside WhatsApp rather than phone lines. The rest follow in no particular order.
1. Spur
Spur is an AI agent and shared inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and website chat, with WhatsApp calling built in. It is not a phone number provider: it has no IVR, no toll-free numbers and no landline numbers. Customers call your WhatsApp number from the chat they already have with you, and the call rings in Spur for everyone on your team who can see that chat.
- WhatsApp calling: customers call you free from WhatsApp; you call customers who allowed it, for 7 days or always.
- Team answering: the call rings in the browser on any page, and the first person free answers.
- Every call in the chat: who answered, how long it lasted, missed calls, and optional recordings and transcripts.
- Calling hours, voicemail and a call link for your website and socials.
- Call analytics: calls received, answered, missed and placed, and talk time per teammate.
- Price: plans start at ₹999 a month plus GST. Calling works on every plan and is paid per minute from your WhatsApp wallet: ₹0.25 a minute for calls customers make, ₹0.50 a minute for calls you make to India (all call rates).
- Trial: 14-day free trial, no credit card needed.

Phone line or WhatsApp calling: which do you need?

Most providers above sell phone lines: a number customers dial, an IVR and agents who answer, the setup our guide to cloud telephony explains. WhatsApp calling adds calls that happen inside WhatsApp, next to the chat. They solve different problems:
- Choose a phone line if you need an 1800 number on your packaging, an IVR menu, or outbound calls to people who have never messaged you.
- Choose WhatsApp calling if your customers already message you on WhatsApp and a quick call would settle the question. Calls are free for them, show your business profile, and sit next to the chat.
- Use both if you get many calls from new prospects and many chats from existing customers.
WhatsApp calls follow Meta's rules on consent and limits. Here is how WhatsApp Business API pricing works for the messages around them.
How to choose a cloud telephony provider in India
Shortlist two or three providers and compare them on what affects your team every day:
- Number types: local virtual numbers, 1800 toll-free, or both.
- Pricing model: per user, per licence, prepaid pack or bundle, and whether incoming calls and minutes are included.
- Minimum commitment: some providers ask for a yearly contract, some for a minimum number of seats or months.
- Concurrent calls: how many calls can ring at once before callers hear busy.
- Agent apps: browser, mobile app and desk phone options.
- Integrations: your CRM, helpdesk or store.
- Messaging: whether the same team can continue on WhatsApp after the call, in a WhatsApp shared inbox.
- Trial: test call quality from your own city before you sign.
Ask each provider for a month's cost for your number of agents and expected minutes, including GST.

Why choose Spur for calls from WhatsApp
If your customers talk to you on WhatsApp, a separate phone system splits every conversation in two: the chat in one tool and the call in another. Spur keeps them together.
- No phone system to set up. Switch on Allow voice calls for your WhatsApp number and customers can call you.
- Your whole team answers. Calls ring in the browser for everyone who can see the chat.
- The AI agent handles the rest. Spur's AI agent answers chats on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and your website, and people take the calls.
- Per-minute pricing on every plan, paid from your WhatsApp wallet, with no separate Meta payment.
Start a 14-day free trial of Spur, no credit card needed, and switch on WhatsApp calling in a few minutes if your number meets Meta's requirements.
Bottom line
The cloud telephony providers in India differ less in features than in how they charge: prepaid packs, per user, per licence or yearly contracts, with minimums that change the real cost for a small team. Only a few publish prices, so ask each one for a full monthly quote that includes numbers, minutes and GST.
If your customers dial a number from an ad or a box, pick a phone line from the list above. If they already message you on WhatsApp, let them call you there: try WhatsApp calling in Spur and keep every call next to the chat it came from.
Frequently asked questions
Widely compared cloud telephony providers in India include Exotel, MyOperator, Knowlarity, Acefone (with Servetel), Tata Tele Business Services Smartflo, Airtel IQ, Ozonetel, MCUBE and Callerdesk. Spur is an option for businesses that want customers to call them on WhatsApp instead of a phone number.
Published starting prices range from ₹950 per licence a month (Tata Smartflo Lite, plus ₹5,000 one time) to ₹5,000 a month for 10 users (MyOperator), with Exotel selling prepaid packs from ₹9,999. Add numbers, minutes, add-ons and GST to get a full monthly cost.
Exotel offers a 7-day trial with ₹500 of credits, and Acefone a 7-day trial with limited calling. MyOperator offers a limited feature trial. Spur offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card needed.
Most sell WhatsApp Business API messaging, including Exotel, MyOperator, Knowlarity, Acefone, Tata Smartflo, Airtel IQ, Ozonetel and MCUBE. WhatsApp calling, where customers call you inside WhatsApp, is newer: Meta opened it to businesses in July 2025. In Spur, those calls ring for your whole team next to the chat.
Cloud telephony gives you phone numbers, IVR and routing for calls customers dial. WhatsApp calling lets customers call your WhatsApp number from the chat, free for them, and lets you call customers who allowed it. Many businesses use both.
Not in the traditional sense. Spur does not sell phone numbers, IVR or toll-free lines. It runs WhatsApp calls through Meta's WhatsApp Business Calling API, so customers call your WhatsApp number and your team answers in Spur.
Only if callers expect to dial a free number, for example from packaging or ads. If your customers already reach you on WhatsApp, calls there are already free for them.
It depends on the number type and the provider, so ask before you switch. For WhatsApp calling, the number is your WhatsApp Business API number, which you can move to another platform.
